“So I’m using this gift as a way to ask you to that prom coming up!” Laraine said to break the silence.
“So was I!” Friend interrupted. “I was hoping you’d go with me, Monroe. I need a Zhu Zhu buddy as my dance partner to the prom.”

Chloe, who was approaching from the back, then wrapped her arm around Mandy.
"Were you gonna ask her to be your dance partner at prom?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah," Mandy said in a hopeless voice. "But I don't even think she'd want to dance with me."

Chloe took her arm off her.
"Maybe she'll ask you!" Chloe said to try and give Mandy some hope.
"You really think so?" Mandy said in a hopeful tone.
"Let's just hope she won't be kidding when she asks!" Chloe said.
"That could happen?" Mandy questioned worriedly.
"Nah, that only happens to Kat."
"Shut up!" I shouted.

"Did you ask her to prom yet?" Chloe asked."I've kinda been procrastinating on that," Mandy admitted.Chloe got up in her face. "Well you better do it soon! Prom is in like, a week!"

"You excited for prom?" Chloe asked.
"No," [Lil] said sternly.
"How come? Isn't there a special someone you want to take as your dance partner to the prom?"
"And you have a dance partner?" [Lil] challenged her.
"Me and Rex were always destined to be endgame, so I'm all set for this prom," she replied. "Now you spill."
"I would like to be dance partners with Swarley, but he lives at Dance's house all the way in Canada. No way he can just come all the way down just for a silly prom," [Lil] admitted.
"Oh," was all Chloe could say.
"I really like him now. We've been talking every day since February. I'd love to meet him in real-life but I know that's not happening."
"Maybe a Christmas miracle will happen?" Chloe tried to reassure her.
"Yeah, right," [Lil] said, hopeless.

She looked at him. “Maybe I’ll get another identity just for the fun of it?” Tammy suggested.
“Because messing with people is one of the fun factors of life,” Phil approved. “And hey, George likes Miley, and you should use that to get back at him for all the messings he done with us.”
Tamara giggled. “Well he did ask Miley to be his dance partner at the prom yesterday. She didn't exactly give him an answer though.”“And there’s your chance. Unless, maybe you’re tired of being Miley and would like to take a break for a day and go with me instead as yourself.” He blushed. “Because I kinda wanted to ask you.”

Dance's Reindeer were gathered in a circle discussing something.
"We should ask her!" Jane said.

“Well, I missed everyone at WebkinzInsider too much, so I thought I'd let them know how we were."

"As for your question, Jake, let me check my e-mail,” Dance said as she pulled out her phone.

Then she said, “Ooh! new e-mail from Santa! And from Kat too!”

“What does it saaaaaay?” Jake whined anxiously.
“Uuuuuummmm,” Dance started, “Santa says you’re no longer working for him.”
“What do you mean?” Jake asked. “Is it because of my flying trouble I had last year?”
“No, it’s not just you,” Dance clarified. “ALL of the Webkinz Reindeer got fired. That means Jane and Jackson too and all the others like Dasher, Kaylynn, and Riley!”
“I just got on the Reindeer team! I was almost dismissed last year!” Jake said. “So why can’t we be on the team this year?”
“Santa just said he didn’t need you guys anymore,” Dance said. “Maybe Kat said something about this in her e-mail.” Dance opened up the message from me. “Okay, so all that she knows about it is that all the real Reindeer on his team had kids earlier this year, including Rudolph. So when his current Reindeer retire, he has a whole new team of Reindeer to help. And Rudolph will be taking Vixen’s place this year instead of all the help from the Webkinz Reindeer.”

Jane said, “So instead of my sparkles and Dasher’s collar...Rudolph’s nose will be the special red light of Santa’s sleigh?”

“Oh,” Jane said quietly and sadly.

Dance let Jane down. There was a silence. “Kat said that her Webkinz are going to try to fix this, though,” Dance said to break the silence and try to give them hope.

The Webkinz prepare for an upcoming prom, but they're all dealing with their own problems. Chloe and Rex begin to get in a love-sick mess, Tamara is torn between going to the prom as Miley or herself, Lil starts to feel the strain of having a long-distance crush, and Giraffe and Mandy begin deal with the horrid pain of heartbreak.
