“Hey, guys!” I greeted as I walked through the door.

“KAT!” Chloe shrieked of joy as she scurried up to me, followed by Mandy, Phil, and Lil.

“Kat, you will not believe this! We traveled to the alternate universe and almost got stuck there!” Mandy told me.

“And Shoes went too but she was dreaming, so her spirit or something was in the alternate universe with us while her body was back in the actual universe,” Lil said. “It’s hard to explain.”

“Wait a minute…you didn’t bring home a boyfriend, right?” Chloe asked, concerned.
“Chloe, you’ve known for half of our little familyhood friendship time that I don’t want a boyfriend,” I reminded her.

Chloe panted slowly in relief and jumped on my leg, clutching it tight in a hug. “Oh, baby. I’m glad you’re back to normal again!”
I paused. “Did you just seriously call me ‘baby’?”

“Baby, don’t ever change, okay? I want you to stay the same forever!” Chloe said lovingly.
“Seriously…why are you calling me baby?” I questioned her.
“Oh, you know you love it,” Chloe protested warmly.
“Actually, it freaks me out,” I corrected her.
“Which is exactly why I’m doing it,” Chloe stated.
