“Maybe there’s a good reason why destiny is separating us,” Smudge said.

“No! There’s nothing good about this!” M.J said. “This is the worst! If I lose you, I’ll be back to square one when you leave. I’ll be back to having no friends. How come everytime I manage to make friends, I end up losing them! Marlee, then Puzzy, and now you and the other lil’ guys!”

“But what if my owner is really nice? What if they live in a really nice place where you can come visit me on cool vacations?” Smudge said to try to help calm her down.

“I just don’t get it!” Kaylynn said. “Why would Santa fire us?”
“He said he doesn’t need you guys anymore because he has Rudolph and the next generation of Reindeer,” I said.
