“Nope,” Monroe rejected. “I’m not going to prom. I’m staying home and doing hamster activities. Sorry!”

Laraine's jaw dropped. She just got rejected!

Chloe appeared out of nowhere with a smirk on his face.
“Stinks not to have a default love interest, doesn’t it?” Chloe mocked.

“Shut up,” Laraine growled.

Then Chloe started sauntering with style towards Monroe.

“Chloe! What are you doing?” Laraine barked. “Don’t you go stealing his heart!”
Chloe let out a loud, evil laugh from the distance. It was obvious to see that she was doing this to harass Laraine, but Laraine was too fired up to see this.

Rex went up to Laraine and asked her, “What’s Chloe doing?”
“Trying to steal Monroe,” Laraine said through her teeth.

Rex’s world suddenly slowed and got all fuzzy. “Chloe?” he said softly. “Monroe?”
“Yep,” Laraine said, still mad. “She was going on and on about how she had this default love interest and goes up to him...just like that!”

Rex’s jaw dropped. “But...me and her...”
“Guess it meant nothing to her,” Laraine said, wincing. “Believe me, I wish it did so I could have Monroe to myself so we could be animal mates in the future.”

“Those four years we were together, none of our happy memories meant anything to her.”

"You were gone so long!" Chloe exclaimed. "How are you?"
"Fine. It was a wacky wash. I've just been lying here," Rex said.
She hugged him.
"Well I'm so glad you're back to Kat's room again!" Chloe exclaimed.
