Friend watched the two of them and smiled. She didn’t want to say anything.

Friend nodded warmly. Lil forced a cheesy smile.
“Lil!” a voice exclaimed.

Lil’s head darted around.

The voice came from the window, where she saw Mandy and Swarley standing. The voice came from Swarley!
“SWARLEY!” Lil shrieked with joy.

Swarley darted towards Lil and the two special friends hugged.
“Now baby I believe this is real,” Koko sang.
“So take a chance and don’t ever look back, don’t ever look back,” Wombo sang.

They couldn’t believe this amazing holiday miracle. Their one Christmas wish and one dream had finally come true. The two finally got to meet, and Lil finally got the prom dancing partner she wanted all along.
“You make me feel like I’m living a teenage dream,” Koko and Wombo sang. “I can’t sleep, let’s run away and don’t ever look back, don’t ever look back.”

“Um, Madeline, there was no competition for prom king and queen,” I pointed out.
“Exactly!” Madeline exclaimed. “So I get to claim the title for myself.”

Mandy walked into the conversation. “Mmkay, so Kurt and Blaine convinced me to come back. I ended up bringing Frosty Bumble to the North Pole and brought Swarley home for the night.”

“Aww!” Chloe said in a squealy voice. “Glad you came back! And fun news, I don’t have a dance partner either.”
“Well I don’t feel like dancing,” Mandy puffed.
“Yeah, me either,” Chloe said.

Madeline suddenly appeared in Mandy’s face.
“Guess what?” Madeline said happily. “I won prom queen!”

Mandy stifled a laugh, but then it broke out into a roar of laughter. Even Chloe was silently snickering.
“Oh my gawd, do you have a crush on me?” Madeline accused.
Mandy stopped laughing, and her smile dropped and her eyebrow raised.

She looked at Chloe and asked, “is she for real?”
Chloe kept a serious face. “Yep, she is.”
“Well, I know you’re planning to choose a female to be your future animal mate. I’m a girl, and you just laughed at me. And if a girl laughs at someone, it means they have a crush on them,” Madeline explained in full seriousness.

Mandy opened her mouth to say something, but was pretty much speechless because of the absolute random ridiculousness of Madeline’s theory. Then she finally said, “Um, I’m not into people like you.”
