We were the kings and queens of promise.
We were the victims of ourselves.
Maybe the children of a lesser God,
Between Heaven and somewhere else.
**This part of the update is told from Chloe's perspective.**
Kat, Rex, my sisters, and some others had just finished showing me the update they made consisting of flashbacks, to send me on a little trip down memory lane.
"See, Chloe?" Rex inquired as they scrolled past the last picture. "We've gone through a lot of changes throughout the years, and we're still a family. Just because Kat's going to live somewhere for a little while doesn't mean that the family's going to be over."
"It's the end of an era for us, but it's not the end of everything," Kat added.
I nodded.
"It's just gonna take us a while to adjust, but we'll be fine," Rex assured.
"So...what do you think?" Kat asked.

"I think...no matter what I'm still going to lie awake every night, worrying about everything's going to go in the future," I said.

"Thank you guys. I really appreciate this, but it doesn't make me feel any better about the future. I mean, Kat's out of my reach, and I don't have anything to keep me busy in the future."

Rex threw his arm around my shoulder and guided me away, and I thought I saw him turn around and wink at Kat.
"I have to go take care of some stuff," Kat said suspiciously before she walked away.

Rexy and I started walking together.

We went past Nick and Chelsea who had just finished up videochatting, so it seemed.

"So that's Kwop, huh?" Chelsea asked happily.

"Yes! That white creature we just videochatted with was Kwop, my friend from Planet Xenas!" Nick answered.

"Do you really think she'll come and visit us on Earth someday?" Chelsea inquired.

"Of course! She has nowhere else to go after leaving Xenas, plus she's a good friend so she'll stick to her word!"
"Awesome!" Chelsea replied. "And I hope we get to see Barbie again someday."
"Yeah," Nick agreed. "I really miss her. I'm glad we got to at least videochat with her. I'm sure she will find a way to visit us again someday."

Rex wrapped his arm around me tighter as we continued on our walk.

We saw Bruce and Paley, obviously closer friends than ever.

Bruce was listening to Paley ramble on about all of the girly tasks she had/wanted to do soon, like manicures, pedicures, shopping, etc.

But Bruce wasn't just pretending to listen. He was really listening, like he was giving Paley his full attention.
And I loved that.
