"I don't know," the confused witch replied. She looked at her with concern. "He's not in this world."

“You can just cancel an entire anticipated vacation that wasn’t yours just for selfish reasons,” Santa started to lecture. “Christmas isn’t all about what you want, Magnus. It’s about finding happiness and giving others whatever happiness you can give them. And Christmas almost never works out the way we want it to—we can’t always have those holiday fantasies we dream about.”

Santa paused for a minute to let all of that sink into Magnus’s head. “And in order to be fair to everyone else in the world, I need to make you suffer the consequences for doing the cruel act that you’ve done. I unfortunately have to put you on the naughty list and deny you of your gifts this year.”
