As Riley heard Magnus walked away, she rolled to her side so she would be facing the opposite direction Magnus was walking in. She started singing to herself. "I'll be home for Christmas."

I was wandering outside, trying to distract myself from this awful, heartwrenching situation I in no way wanted to deal with at this moment.

Ugh, it will be all over tomorrow. It will be done. It will be gone. I will be all alone for the rest of eternity after tomorrow. What else is there to think about or act upon?

Then she realized something...
"I haven't seen Rex in days!" she screamed.

"Taffy! Emma! We're going on a rescue mission!" Chloe exclaimed.

"Hey, look! A penny!" Taffy exclaimed.

"Okay," Emma said. "Sweet! .5 cents!"
