He felt like he was home, like in a place he belonged...for real this time. He felt safe. He felt loved. He felt better than he did before, and he felt like he was in someplace better than whatever place he was in when he thought the creature he thought was his mother. Is this what family felt like? Is this what everyone on this planet cherished and celebrated? Is this why everyone emphasized it through happy traditions like bright lights, jolly music, and sweet food every time the weather got cold? For the first time in his short life, Blaze felt he understood something other than him and felt he belonged right with it.
