“Magnus, don’t be ridiculous,” Riley said as she walked away. “You have plenty of other family members to spend time with while I’m gone.”

Magnus watched her walk away. “But...I’ll miss you,” he said softly to himself.

This note confused Blaze beyond belief. What did he know about Xenas communications? He barely remembered the planet! He was only about two weeks old when he was deported from Xenas to be gifted to his current family. Then there was that one summer where he took a quick trip there but he wasn't able to stay long and explore because he was almost immediately brought back to Earth.
Blaze was standing in the middle of the floor. He didn’t know much about Xenas, but he knew someone who did.
Blaze let out this extremely odd noise that sounded like a high-pitch obnoxious bird call.

George appeared, looking extremely agitated. “Gah! Gah! Stop it! Stop it with that noise! How is everyone in the darn state not calling the cops complaining?”

Blaze purred his alien purr in response.

George sighed. “So I’m guessing you let out that obnoxious call that only Xenasians can hear because you wanted to speak with me?”

“Definitely smells like Xenas,” he thought out loud.

“Hmm,” George wondered out loud with his mouth full. “It seems to be a note requesting your visitation, Blaze.”
