Hello, Webkinz Insider!
So you want to know a little bit more about me, eh?
The name is Kat. Well, my online name is Kat. My real name is Katie but I much prefer to be called Kat on the internet. (And I don't care how close we get--if you're online, ya gotta call me Kat!) I've been on the Internet for about 10 years (so like, around 2003/2004?). I first joined Webkinz in Spring 2007, and I joined WI the following June. I didn't stay for long because I pursued Tamagotchi blogging, but I came back July 2008 and got hooked on the idea of Webkinz picture threading and created my own thread.
Yeah, I've been working on this thread nonstop since July 2008. (Well, I've taken a few hiatuses but it's been pretty much continuous.) I've been writing for about 10 years. Whether it was stories about my Petz, Webkinz stories, SpongeBob fanfiction, Tamagotchi blogs, etc. Writing is pretty important to me, in case you can't tell. As you can see, my writing training (from courses in school to books about writing) comes to use in this thread, along with my skills from film camp, and other courses that I have somehow brought to this thread.
I'm a huge animal lover. I'm vegetarian, I own two dogs (who are old now but when they were younger they starred in the updates as pals to the Webkinz), I love animal movies and shows.
With inspiration from Fred Rogers and several cartoons and dramatic television shows, I try to make this thread entertaining and stress-relieving with tackling social/etc. issues on the side. I try to portray my Webkinz characters with issues (Asperger syndrome (inspired by having two brothers with forms of Autism), OCD, ADD, low self esteem, transgenderism, and much more) as best as I can--by staying as close to the truth, showing the realism and great sides of people similar, showing that there is hope for the dark times as much as I can with maintaining the entertainment value. (If I offend anyone, please let me know! It's not my intention to make fun of anyone. If you feel I'm doing a poor portrayal, please come talk to me and we can talk about how the character can be suggested!)
