"What do you mean?" Amelia asked. She was confused. "Is she mean to you?"

"Well not exactly," Chris said. "She just never plays with me and such."

He leaned down to her eye level.
"You mean you were talking to a stranger?" Shuffle asked in a parental-concerned voice. "What did I say about talking to strangers?"
"But he isn't a stranger!" Amelia whined. Chris didn't seem like the scary strangers people warned her about.

"Hey, Abby!" Chris greeted her. "Do you wanna play?"
"Not right now, Chris," Abby answered.

Then he climbed on her bed.
"Please?" he begged. "I'm so lonely and bored and I'm tired of just watching those Webkinz next door play!"

She pointed her finger at him.
"I told you I don't want you to leave the house!" she lectured. "Now just go to your room and leave me alone!"

Chris began to walk away.

Then he turned back to Abby.
"But-"
"NO!!!" Abby cut him off.

"Because I like watching you guys play," Chris explained. "Makes me wonder what it would be like to have my own friends at home."

"How about you can be my friend?" Amelia suggested. She liked having Chris around. And it didn't matter to her that her dad didn't want her talking to him.
