Rover and Mini-Clifford stood side-by-side on the bed.
Mini-Clifford sat there silently and happy while Rover angrily muttered about his horrible milkshake-free day.

"I like milkshakes," a ferret said.

She sighed. She didn't really like wandering around the house at midnight but she had so much on her mind.

"Hey, Kat, is there any way I can sleep alone tonight?" Lily asked in a whisper. I was awake doing some stuff on the computer.
"Of course," I whispered back.

I tucked her in. "Sleep tight."

Lily looked in front of her and let out a little sigh of slight relief as Joey sat down next to her.
"The corner was a bit cramped so I thought I'd join you tonight," Joey explained.
Lily didn't mind his company at the moment.

Joey tucked himself in next to her.
"Joey, I'm gonna be 21 in two weeks," Lily whispered. "I'm gonna be an adult. Things are gonna change."
Joey closed his eyes. "Not between us," Joey whispered to her. "I promise no matter how old and mature we get we'll be friends forever."

Lily dropped her head down and relaxed a little as she started to drift into sleep.
"Yeah, we are gonna be friends forever," she whispered back. "Goodnight, Joey."
"Sleep tight, Lily. You need it."

Madison got up and walked to the door to show me walking in with a big box.
"It's just Kat," Madison answered.

I put down the box and leaned on it as I caught my breath. "Phew."
"Hi, Kat!" Paley squealed. "What's that?"

"A 6 foot tall Christmas tree for the room," I answered. "Mom wanted me to have it."
"Wow!" Paley responded fascinated. "Oh by the way, can I be adopted into Webkinz World by this Christmas?"
"Sure," I replied. "How about Christmas Eve Eve?"
"Yes!" Paley shrieked in happiness.

The two came up to me. M.J. was more upbeat after talking to Marlee more and Tucker was just a hyper little dog.
"What's up?" Tucker asked.

Sadie and Fanby were chatting and having a good ol' time. Fanby had given her a second chance and they were hanging out that evening. Fanby jabbered on about something while Sadie giggled.

Mandy was hiding inside the closet peeping out at them.
Why was Sadie with Fanby instead of her? Why did Sadie choose to hang out with Fanby tonight instead of her? Was there something wrong with Mandy? Was it because she wasn't normal?
