Then Zalo raised their hand and started moving it around in a magical fashion, using the magic to try and achieve Sophie’s wish.

Zalo could feel the magic in the air. Sophie could feel the magic in the air. She closed her eyes and breathed peacefully as she took it all in and thought about how happy she’d be after this.

Zalo abruptly shocked and ze couldn’t figure out why. “What? WHAT?”

“Huh? What happened?” a very confused Sophie asked.

“It won’t work! My magic’s not working!” Zalo said, freaking out. Then ze got quiet. “I can’t grant the wish.”

“Just live your life,” Zalo advised with a warm smile. “Don’t think too much about this.”
Sophie whimpered.
