“You’ve been watching Blue’s Clues for the past 6 hours! It’s time I watched my show!” Chris argued.

(Yes I know Blue's Clues ended years ago and probably isn't even on the air anymore but let me have my nostalgia for a minute and have my youngster characters watch the shows I watched when I was their age.)
“But I wanna watch Blue’s Clues!” Amelia whined.

Shuffle turned to Amelia. “Amelia, darling, why don’t you let Chris watch his show-”
“NO!” Amelia protested with fury.
Shuffle didn’t want to deal with a temper tantrum (and he knew Lily didn’t want to either) so he quickly said, “Okay, okay. You can watch your show for a little while longer.”

Then he turned to Chris and said in a pleading voice, “Can’t you wait for just a little while? I really don’t want Amelia to throw a tantrum.”
“You can watch your show when Amelia takes her nap or something!” Lily added.
