Lacey got up in his face.
"Why not?" she asked, sounding a bit mad. After all she was through with Shuffle, you couldn't be surprised with this reaction...
"Because they're girls and and I want to keep Santa's Reindeer the same: all boy," Dasher said.

"I was just talking to Dasher about Kaylynn and Riley," Lacey said.
"He doesn't want to train them."

Paley, who came out of nowhere, pounced on him.
"YOU'LL RUIN CHRISTMAS!" Paley yelled at him.

He sat next to him.
"I know how you feel," Shuffle said. "I went through the same thing back when Lacey and I split. Sometimes it's hard to accept things that are too different."

"I want to keep things the same with Santa's Reindeer," Dasher said. "All girls. But if I don't train them, Christmas will be ruined and every girl in the world will hate me."

"I had to realize that Lacey really could fly when she saved me from that storm," Shuffle said. "For you, I don't think realization will come that simple. Just do what's right and you always have friends to talk to."

"Hi, guys!" he exclaimed.

"Well first, you need to learn how to fly," Dasher said. "And I know just the Yellow Lab who can teach you."
