Chris was still sitting and waiting anxiously.

Shuffle flew over to Chris.

He landed in front of Chris who started to get nervous.
"Hi, Chris," he said gently.

"Um, hi," Chris said kinda quietly. "Sorry that I kept stalking Amelia."

"It's okay," Shuffle said. "I'm sorry I flipped out on you. Do you want to come and live with me and Amelia?"

Chris just sat there and looked at him speechless.

Shuffle smiled. "Just go and tell your owner that you're gonna come live with us and you don't have to leave here forever."

Then he dashed off with adrenaline pumping through his stuffing.

Chris climbed through the window.

He climbed down to look for Abby.

He finally found her and looked up at her.
"Abby, you don't have to donate me anymore," Chris said. "I'm going to live in the house next door."

She petted his head.
"Okay," she said. "Okay. I'm sorry things had to be this way. I wish things could have been different."

Chris paused. Then said, "Me too, Abby. Me too."

He then walked towards the window.

Then he climbed out his window for the very last time.
They say that there's a chance that someone will come back for you if they look back at you before they leave. He didn't look back...
