Shuffle was just relaxing with Amelia on his belly. He was carefree but Amelia had so much going through her mind.

Shuffle put Amelia on the ground to look at her her.
"You mean a stranger?" Shuffle lectured. "What did I tell you about talking to strangers?"

Amelia went up to Lily.
"Mommy," Amelia began. "I have a problem."
"What is it?" Lily asked.

"My friend is leaving tomorrow and my daddy doesn't want to help and he won't let me talk to him," Amelia said.

Lily sighed. "Amelia, I'd love to help, but if your daddy doesn't approve then I can't do anything. I really don't want to get involved in this."

Amelia turned away from her and started sniffing. Chris was going to be gone forever and no one cared!

"I'm sorry," Lily apologized. "You'll find new friends!"
"But not like Chris," Amelia said.

Chris and Amelia met at their normal spot at the fence. Chris hung over it to talk to her.
"So how did it go?"

"No one wants to help," Amelia said. "They think that you're bad."

"That's not good," Chris said. He was feeling absolutely down. It was like there were big weights crushing his spirit. "So this is it, isn't it?"
He didn't want to say goodbye.

"I guess so," Amelia said, feeling the same way. "Can I ask you to do one thing for me before you leave?"
