Paley was just snoozing on the bed.
All of a sudden there were heavy footsteps and clacking on the hardwood floor in the hallway.

Paley snapped out of sleep and jumped up to an alert state.

She looked at the door direction.
"Who's there?"

The clacking turned out to be Madison who was hanging around a lot lately.
"Hello!" Madison greeted cheerfully.

The dog slid down into a lying position on the ground.
"I'm tired," Madison said.

"Hi, Madison!" Paley greeted when she leaped to the ground next to her. "What are those heavy footsteps."

Madison got up and walked to the door to show me walking in with a big box.
"It's just Kat," Madison answered.

I put down the box and leaned on it as I caught my breath. "Phew."
"Hi, Kat!" Paley squealed. "What's that?"

"A 6 foot tall Christmas tree for the room," I answered. "Mom wanted me to have it."
"Wow!" Paley responded fascinated. "Oh by the way, can I be adopted into Webkinz World by this Christmas?"
"Sure," I replied. "How about Christmas Eve Eve?"
"Yes!" Paley shrieked in happiness.

"Cozy," Madison said as she curled up in the corner.

I placed the box on its side so we could open it.

Paley watched anxiously as I peeled off all the packaging tape and open the box revealing a Christmas tree.

Paley continued to watch me as I pulled out the tree...

...and pieced it together.

Paley's jaw dropped in happiness as she stared up at the completed tall tree.

Paley pounced 3 or 4 feet and grabbed onto the Christmas tree.
"Let's get this baby in the corner!"

I used my foot to clear away some space...
