Chapter 9

He must be in Webkinz World.

I peeked over at the screen. He was being adopted, but I couldn’t get a glimpse at his name.

If you haven’t guessed already, yes, he is a boy.

She played with my brother for 30 minutes. I was a little jealous, but, it’s OK.

“Katrina! Come on! Let’s go shopping for your party!” her mom called out.
“Coming, Mom!” she said as she logged out.

She picked up me and my brother, and tossed us on the bottom bunk of her bunkbed.

Then she took all her papers, and placed them in a drawer in her desk. Then, she took our tags, placed them back in their plastic containers, tied the ribbon back inside each of them, and wrote our names on the plastic of our tags in fine-point sharpie, then placed them in the same drawer she placed the papers inside, and locked up the drawer and put the key in her sock drawer.

When she left, me and the other Webkinz talked.

“My name’s Mark!” my brother said.
“Well my name’s Kallik! I’m a girl!” I said.
“Cool!” Mark said.
“I’m Lee” the Lion said.
“My name’s Seth.” The Cheeky Dog said.
“My name’s Lara.” The Cheeky Cat said.
“I’m Marissa.” The Pegasus said.
“I’m Sophie.” The Unicorn said.
“Steed.” The Horse said.
“Wow! You’re all RETIRED! Except for Lee. Sorry, Lee.” Mark said.
“Hmm. Webkinz has really changed since we last been there.” Seth said.
“Wow! They really update fast!” I said.
“And retire fast.” Lee said.
“They do?” I said.
“Yes, Kallik. Webkinz is growing so much. So they add and retire fast.” Lee said.
“Wow. Retireds must be worth a lot then!” Mark said.

“Aye. They are. That’s what I hate the most about being retired.” Lara said.
