Sadie and I were having a long and necessary conversation about her behavior.
“Sadie, if you wanna stay here, you have to be nice to everyone,” I said sternly. “If you’re not, I’ll make you go back.”
“But I can’t!” Sadie whined.

I waved my arms in frustration in a questioning way when I asked*, "and why not? Weren’t they your family?”

“Yes, but I didn’t come here because I got sick of them,” Sadie answered.

There was a pause as she titled her head down.

Then she titled it back up and said, “I came here because they kicked me out. They really didn’t want me there.”
There was another pause.
“Is that true?” I asked. “I’m not sure if I believe you.”

She began to cry.
“Yes!” Sadie cried. “My own family banned me!”

I wiped her eyes.
“Well,” I began.

I pointed and wagged my finger a bit when I said, “if you want to stay in this family you have to treat us like family. As in being nice to everyone.”

Sadie then went up to Fanby, who was hanging out with Parkee and Carlos.
“Hi, Fanby,” Sadie said. “I’m sorry I’ve been such a jerk. Do you still wanna be friends?”

Fanby looked at her and Parkee and Carlos looked at the Ferrets.
“Sadie,” Fanby began, “I accept your apology, but I don’t want to be friends with someone who treats me like you do. The offer expired. Sorry.”

“Pfft,” Sadie huffed with confidence and mean in her voice. “Fine.”

And she walked off with confidence in her stroll.

"Glad you understand," Fanby whispered.
“It’ll be okay, man,” Carlos said.
“I feel so bad,” Fanby said.
“You’ll get over her, dude,” Parkee said.
