(A little review on Entry 12 with some life advice-y storytime!!!)
Oh my; in Entry 12 I documented getting spacers, which was shortly before I got my braces on! I had my braces from 7th grade to 10th grade. I said in the entry that I was chewing lots of gum before my gum-abstinence during the braces years (but I totally snuck in a few pieces over the years…I'm a bad role model).
Let's spend this entry talking about BRACES! Because I'm sure some of my readers might get them on or currently have them on…and are probably curious about what it's like!
When you first get them on, let me tell you, your teeth feel so weird. Is it sore? It didn't feel sore to me, but I had trouble eating things the first couple of dinners; ESPECIALLY the first dinner afterwards. But that feeling will pass, and I promise you will be able to eat normally again! (Well, not too normally. Still gotta stay away from sticky candy that will mess up your braces and/or teeth!) Although, food will get stuck in them…so be sure to keep an eye on your teeth and make sure they're clean!
They do hurt. They will make your teeth sore. The wires may poke the inside of your mouth. But it's not excruciating! And they make medicine for the soreness, and plenty of wax for the pokey wires (available in the dental section of grocery stores)!
They may be annoying, but I PROMISE you'll get used to them! Like for example, I had this appliance with my braces in my mouth that helped moved my jaw forward for cosmetic reasons. It was annoying and would pop apart, but I naturally gained the ability to put it back together within my mouth with just my tongue!
But good news…they DO come off someday! And it will be TOTALLY worth it!!!
(And they're not that ugly. They're a pretty normal part of growing up and A LOT of people need them. You aren't alone!)

Oh my goodness. I cannot believe that you are still making these stories, 10 years later! I am speechless!
Wow. Keep it up.
