#6. Reflecting on "I'm Still Me" / Launching the Journey!

(This is the part where I discuss the events in the "I'm Still Me" three-part picture story with some commentary from Chloe, and the final introductory post before The Squid V5 Log review begins.)

BACK

And that was I'm Still Me!

“That was confusing,” Chloe says.
It will be understandable as this goes on, I promise!

But that was Chloe in virtual form. My pets could be anywhere as we read and reflect on my content.

I may add on more parts to I'm Still Me someday. I honestly wanted to add so much more to this story and create more parts, but I also am anxious to start reviewing the Kat and the V-Pets timeline and really get this series going.

Maybe someday I will write more parts and add them to the newer updates (once I finish reviewing all the OLD updates from The Squid V5 LogKat and the Webkinz, and whatever else I want to share).

We’re going to read through ALL my old content (TEN YEARS worth!)…but new content is coming! I’ll explain everything as we go along. I will do my best to make things clear and clarify timelines and help you all through this story journey! Hopefully this will be understandable.

“It won’t,” Chloe says back to me.
Chloe…calm down.

Okay…before anything else, let’s discuss what happened in the past three stories.

In Part 1, we discussed gender and how a lot of my pets are on the transgender spectrum, from all-the-way trans to gender non-conforming (or not on the gender binary at all).

As a storyteller and lover of everyone, I want to capture the diversity of the world around us. Gender is one thing that is VERY diverse and varies from person to person. In my opinion, there are more genders than just the biological male and female (especially when some people are truly intersex, or are biologically a mix of both genders).

Some people don’t feel like they are the gender on their birth certificate…and that’s okay! (I myself identify as non-binary, so I don’t fully feel all-the-way female. I feel some male-ness and gender non-conformation within me, as I’ve stated.)

I want to show the world that trans people are no different than cisgender people (people whose gender matches the one on their birth certificate) and they need to be loved by everyone else! I hope to express more of this as the stories go on.

In Part 2, we discussed the autistic pets. Some of them are more severely autistic and some only have a few symptoms. It’s a spectrum! No two autistic people are alike, as everyone in the world is unique.

Some are nonverbal, like Shadow; some are verbal but have other severe symptoms, like Jenkinz; some have some symptoms but not others, like Kaylor. You will see more of these and other characters in future stories! Are there any other characters on the Autism spectrum in the family? And how do these character react in certain situations? You're just going to have to keep reading to find out!

Both of my brothers are autistic, so early on in Kat and the Webkinz I wanted to have some of my Webkinz pets be autistic to bring awareness to the fact that autistic people exist. I was watching parents of autistic children run the "Autism Awareness" cause. But these days, I've taken notice to the "Autism Acceptance" revolution run by the autistic adults--because there's more to an autistic person's story than what their parents think.

I've started on the Autism Awareness revolution, but now I want to participate in the Autism Acceptance revolution. I want to create characters and stories to explore autistic people in their world; to give them representation and talk about their experiences.

I know I'm not an expert, so one thing I will happily do is listen to fan input and accept story content and ideas from trans and autistic people. To create diversity and to have more perspective. Everyone is so different with their own views and I want my readers to be able to experience that.

So, readers, give me input and ideas anytime! You could leave a comment on a post, send a message on one of the social media pages, or e-mail the blog e-mail: katandthevpets@gmail.com

The inboxes are always open!

Continuing on, in Part 3, I handed the storytelling to Chloe.

“Which was a good move,” Chloe interrupts.
Yes…because Chloe’s a star.
“Heck yeah I am,” Chloe agrees.

We learned a lot about my beloved first Webkinz pet.

"Beloved...I like that," Chloe comments.

We got some more tastes of her personality, we heard some of her fondest memories, and we learned about the pets closest to her.

"There's so much more to me though," Chloe boasts.

I know, Chloe. I know.

To add some more context to Chloe, she was such a star when I showed Part 2 to the narrative studies class that I actually BROUGHT HER IN to my next class to show her to everyone! To give some context to the story and show my inspiration, of course.
“I still can’t believe you brought me in…” Chloe reflects.

That was a good time.

Now, I think we should start going over the archives, or the history of my life as a Tamagotchi and Webkinz blogger! For this moment…let's start from the VERY beginning of my official life recording my virtual pet life online, shall we?

"Yippee!" Nick exclaims. "Publicity!"

"Can we first start with explaining how NICK, the Tamagotchi that LEFT EARTH back in 2005, aka 13 YEARS AGO, is here…NOW?" Chloe demands.

"It's also going to be a little confusing too because you have a Webkinz named Nick too," Nick points out.

"Webkinz PET," Chloe corrects.

This is all very much a work in progress, and will be developed as we go along…like Kat and the Webkinz and kinda The Squid V5 Log were! Let's start with this:

All my pets can connect through a world inside my mind; that world is called Labracadabradorland.

"Explain the name!" Chloe says.

Lab-ra-ca-dab-ra-dor-land.
Have you ever heard the joke, "I have a magical dog--a Labracadabrador!"

"No they haven't!" Chloe responds.

Anyway…it's that joke…but a land!

So my virtual pets and other characters can meet up through this land by simply meditating into it…no matter where they are in the Universe. They can also channel communication with me and one another through this platform. I explain more in later updates.

"MUCH later updates," Chloe points out.

I admit…they haven't even been written yet…

"My brain hurts already," Chloe complains.

Hang in there! It'll get better!

"Let's get to the Tamagotchi days already!" Nick exclaims.

Okay, okay! Even though you were V1 days and not V5 days, aka the subject of this log…

Let's begin The Squid V5 Log…aka the VERY beginning of it all!

But before we get to that, I want to say one more thing.

"UGH," Chloe groaned.

Nick sighs.

To keep this blog up-to-date and interesting rather than solely a trip through my old, cringy, early teen writings, I will include some current content—Tamagotchi growth and Webkinz website updates! So I will be activating my Tamagotchi Friends Dream Town and my new Tamagotchi Classic reboot, plus going on my Webkinz account daily, and I will post those “v-pet” updates in between the reviews of the old “v-pet” updates! So this journey/blog will be a blend of the old and the new!

“If you’re wondering why she’s not re-activating the V5s, those are gone,” Chloe informs.

Yeah, those went missing years ago. Searched hard and wide. Can’t find them anywhere. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone in my family tossed them in the garbage. RIP V5s…and also my pink Tamagotchi Friends that went missing.

“What about the V5.5-slash-V5 Celebrity?” Nick asks. “I don’t think you ever got one!”

Cheapest one is $60, even used!

“In other words, maybe someday, but not while Katie only has a part-time minimum wage job,” Chloe says.

Alright, alright. Enough blabbering. Let’s start this journey up!
